AG Consulting Engineering, PC (AG), a design, engineering and construction management firm headquartered in New York is looking for a Resident Engineer to support long term NYCT infrastructure project. Location will be between Brooklyn and Queens. Position: Resident Engineer Location: Brooklyn, Queens, New York Project: Train Station infrastructure projects Scope of work: Elements of the Projects include, but are not limited to: Installing ADA-accessible elevators. Major structural and excavation work expanding Station envelopes and/or mezzanines to accommodate the elevators. Extending and re-framing of platforms and/or mezzanines at above- or below-grade Stations for construction of new elevator machine rooms, elevator shafts, and expanded fare control areas and/or the displacement of Station facilities. Upgrading electrical power to support additional elevators and new elevator machine rooms. Upgrading Station communications systems to support fire alarm, intercom, and CCTV systems. Relocating existing public street utilities and transit utilities in platforms and mezzanines. Reconstructing entire platform edges and/or reconstructing ADA boarding areas. Re-aligning track with new platform edges. Platform and stair reconstruction. Windscreen and canopy replacement. Architectural finishes replacement. Structural steel and concrete repairs; and Waterproofing. Responsibilities: Management of the scope, budget, quality, safety, and schedule of work. Ensure that inspection, testing, and acceptance requirements are properly executed. Interface with various units within MTA C&D, NYCT, external agencies, and third-party utilities. Evaluate and prepare recommendations regarding sequence of construction activities and means and methods of construction when working in a railroad environment. Ensure that work is performed in accordance with MTA C&D, NYCT, and OSHA safety practices. Validate and monitor railroad-supplied services and Design-Build Contractor invoices for payment in accordance with progress of work. Oversee railroad-supplied services and ensure that look-ahead schedules. and work plans are properly integrated with available track outages and foul time. Assess and monitor sequence of critical path activities. Review project submittals including quality, security, and safety plans, work plans, and schedules. Assist in the preparation of project management plans, project plans, and quality plans. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent. Must have NYCT Track Safety cerification. Minimum 7 years' experience managing design and/or construction of major transit projects. Expertise and prior experience with assisting in bringing matters to a prompt resolution as they pertain to standard engineering and construction practices. Experience with construction elements of similar rail/transit projects and rehabilitation work. Experience in managing work scope, budgets, and schedules. Ability to work within a "paperless" environment. Strong technical/specialist and project coordination skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong negotiation skills. Knowledge of construction when working in proximity to MTA operations. Knowledge of project management scheduling and estimating. Knowledge of federal and state regulations and industry safety standards (e.g., OSHA.). Proficient in the use of personal computer and office software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Professional. Roadway Worker Protection, OSHA 30, and other necessary training. A.G.
