Overview Engineering Technician (IR/IF 2): Bowhead is seeking an Engineering Technician to support the Infrared Radio Frequency (IR/RF) Division at the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) in Crane, Indiana. The IR/RF Systems Technologies Division conducts research and development for pyrotechnic and countermeasure devices in support of the Navy, Air Force, Army and Joint Strike Fighter. The primary mission is to promote the self-protection of aircraft, vessels and vehicles and includes, but is not limited to, Infrared Technology, lasers and electronic warfare research and development. The Engineering Technician will be responsible for performing complex engineering assignments in a research and development environment. They will also serve as the Technician for a work unit which performs development and testing operations involving energetic compositions. Overview Electronics Technician (F-24415): Bowhead is seeks an experienced Electronics Technician Maintenance to join our team in Crane, IN. The Electronics Technician Maintenance team identifies and resolves equipment malfunctions, calibrate and perform preventative maintenance and must be capable of reading blueprints, schematics and engineering instructions of the assembly of electronic units. They also assist in writing reports and recording data as it relates to testing techniques, laboratory equipment and specifications. Responsibilities Duties will include radar system maintenance, repair, overhauls, fabrication of cable harnesses, populating RVCA, parts inventory management and complete system testing using approved procedures. Must work with other technicians in testing and repair of AN/SPS-67/SPS-73 radar system consoles and associated equipment. Must be able to communicate effectively with Task Lead, Branch Manager, ISEA and US Navy fleet. Must be able to provide troubleshooting assistance to the ISEA and US Navy. Must maintain parts inventory in accordance with OM&S regulations. Minimum of 5 years experience on Radar system maintenance and repair, SPS-73 experience preferred. The Engineering Technician indepedntly plans and accomplishes complete projects or studies of a broad scope of complexity and serves as an expert in a narrow aspect of a particular field of engineering. Responsibilities Essential functions will include: Prepares designs and specifications for various complex equipment or systems (e.g., heating system in an office building or new electronic componets such as solid state devices for instrumentation equipment). Plans approach to solve design problems; conceives and recommends new design techniques. Resolves design problems with contract personnel and assures compatibility of design with other parts of the system. Designs and coordinates test set-ups and experiments to prove or disprove the feasibility of preliminary design. Uses untried and untested measurement techniques and improves the performance of the equipment. May advise equipment users on redesign to solve unique operational deficiencies. Plans approach and conducts various experiments to develop equipment or systems characterized by difficult performance requirements because of conflicting attributes such as versatility, size, and ease of operation. Overview Mechanical Engineer / Weapon Systems Modeler (DETO-1): Bowhead seeks new team members in their support to the Navy's Weapons Systems Munitions Integration and Hypersonics division. Bowhead seeks analysts to perform Target Vulnerability characterizations and Weapon System effectiveness analyses. The position will interface with weapons design analysts, other subject matter experts, and technical personnel model targets and analyze the effects of weapon systems against them. Responsibilities Define threat systems, understand their subsystems (e.g., propulsion, fire control, etc.) and then develop a Target Geometric Model and associated Fail Analysis Logic Trees Combine the Target Vulnerability models and weapon characterizations to assess encounters between a weapon and target with the goal of determining the overall probability of kill (Pk) or system effectiveness based upon delivery accuracy. Overview Machinist (Engineering Technician III) (EPFAB-9): Bowhead is seeking a qualified Machinist to join the Machine Shop team at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) in Virginia. This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with the U.S. Navy in the development of prototypes and short-run production work, contributing to critical national defense projects. Our machinists are responsible for programming, setting up, and machining parts in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) specifications and models. The role involves working with a diverse range of materials, including a variety of aluminum, stainless steel, plastic, Inconel, and titanium. We are particularly seeking candidates with substantial experience in CNC lathe programming and operation. While there will be a mix of mill and lathe work, our current project demands have shifted toward more lathe-focused machining. We provide comprehensive in-house and at-home training on SolidWorks and CAMWorks, offering opportunities for continuous skill development and career advancement. Government-provided tools will be available to support your work. This intermediate-level position requires a minimum of five years of experience in machining and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Overview INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER (USCG): Bowhead is seeking a Interdisciplinary Engineer to provide civil engineering services to United States Coast Guard (USCG) Civil Engineering Unit (CEU) Juneau. Position is located at USCG CEU in Juneau, AK, in support of projects throughout the 17th Coast Guard District (D17) area of responsibility (AOR). Services include independent technical reviews, project scope development, field investigation, planning, specifications, drawings, cost estimating, problem and conflict resolution, scheduling and design production, and facility condition assessments. Responsibilities Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide civil engineering services for the CEU Juneau in support of work associated with projects on the Advanced Acquisition Plan and other inserted projects. Provide civil engineering trouble-shooting and/or consultations, providing technical and project advice and guidance to CEU Juneau Project Managers. Conduct comprehensive technical reviews of professional studies, reports and analysis. Collaborate with managers, other engineers/architects, construction project managers, legal staff, contract specialists and or contractor personnel, and provides advice and insight on the resolution of unique and/or complex engineering problems and disputes.
