A leading process engineering and construction company, with a long history of executing customized design/build projects, is seeking an Electrical Designer/Mid-Level Electrical Engineer with 0 to 10 years of experience and a background in facility/building design. The successful candidate will have the knowledge and experience to support the in-house engineering team for the design and construction of complex process-facility projects. Projects include new design and construction of manufacturing plants and facilities, and rehabilitation of existing plants/facilities and other high-hazard environments. The Electrical Designer/Mid-Level Electrical Engineer will work closely with senior staff to complete engineering activities to support project execution by coordinating with clients, internal engineering team, internal resources, external vendors, contractors and other critical personnel. We need a designer or engineer with hands on experience who is able to effectively manage their time and complete tasks on their own. The successful candidate should be comfortable with shifting priorities and comfortable with challenging deadlines, as well as managing the activities of several concurrent projects. You will be working with a 2-3 person Electrical Department on various facility designs. Industries include, but are not limited to: Pharmaceutical Chemical Manufacturing Food Processing Offices/Labs (usually as part of an overall facility) General Manufacturing/Warehousing Expected responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Writing specifications (pulled from a generic library and tailored to specific project needs). Performing load calculations. Creating electrical drawings for power, lighting, tel/data, security, and others. Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit is preferred. Maintaining panel schedules for each branch circuit used. Performing lighting calculations. Laying out devices on a background. Selecting various components (make and model) to use. Will involve internet research and documentation. Travel to jobsites to verify or record information at various stages of projects. Good communication skills are a must as you will be working with contractors, engineers, clients, and construction personnel. Must have good organizational skills and willingness to learn.

The client is looking for someone with a solid chemical, electrical or computer engineering background and 5 to 10 years of relevant process automation experience. The successful candidate will act as a project lead supervising, and contributing to, all aspects of controls system design, instrument specification, programming, purchasing, installation and start-up. You will work closely with fellow team members to create and deliver a successful project. Ideal Candidate Will Have: Bachelors Degree in chemical, electrical or computer engineering. Minimum of 5 years of experience in process automation. The ability to deal with challenges thrown up by complex engineering projects and have the people and time management skills to overcome them. The practical knowledge of design and requirements engineering from a systems and process model based viewpoint; an understanding of the relation between system design and system architecture. The ability to understand the concepts and state-of-the-art technology on a range of manufacturing techniques employed by manufacturing engineering clients across a number of sectors from Battery to life science. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple and changing priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Ability to interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, loop drawings and general equipment arrangement drawings. Understanding of DCS/PLC physical layer and control hardware Working knowledge of AutoCAD software. Knowledge of Microsoft Products. (Excel, Word, Access, Project Required Job Tasks: Project lead with oversight of all Controls and Instrumentation components. Creation of overall system design based on client requirements. Specification of control system equipment and materials. Instrumentation specification support. Review control panel design. Generate scopes of work and procure vendor bids for assigned projects or proposals. Review vendor submittals for compliance with project requirements and specifications. Lead and/or execute pre-FAT/FAT on OEM or customer supplied equipment. Lead and/or execute site startup activities (loop checks/commissioning). Generate and manage loop check/commissioning documentation. Generate and manage project punch lists to completion. Troubleshoot traditional analog and discrete signals as well as other communication types (HART Profibus, DeviceNet, AS-I, Ethernet I/P, Modbus). Use a multimeter to support control loop testing and/or troubleshooting of wiring and connectivity issues. Utilize DCS/PLC platform software to support troubleshooting Enforce quality control.

Key/Core Qualifications: This engineer will be a digital design specialist with circuit design skills in the majority of the following areas; Digital design: circuit design using logic, CPLDs, FPGAs Substantial Microprocessor design experiences Bus experience, PCIe, USB, I2C, SPI, etc. Power Supplies, linear and switching supplies, in support of complex digital circuits. Details of board layout while you wont be doing the board layouts, you will be an integral part of the layout team and need to bring board stack-up and fabrication knowledge. Experienced and highly skilled using bench equipment; oscilloscopes, distortion analyzers, network/spectrum/vector analyzers, power meters, etc. Experience with computer aided design tools Experience working in a requirement based environment Works to and supports schedules and metrics Ability to learn and apply multiple documentations standards and modify design packages with minimal clerical errors. Experience mentoring junior engineers BSEE or equivalent. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in avionics electronics development. These designs will be for avionics products and therefore need to pass testing in support of FAA and FCC certification. Previous design for government certification is a plus. Experience with DO-160 Qualification Testing, Experience with avionics design certification standards; DO-254, DO-178, Experience with Altium and CADDStar schematic capture and PC Layout Experience transitioning new products into the factory

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Coordinate Engineering designs and requirements with other Engineering disciplines. Deep involvement in the design and analysis of electronic circuits & components. Hands-on involvement in circuit board bring-up troubleshooting and testing of the electronic designs. Provide hardware design support from the Concept phase through Production. Apply Engineering skill and creativity to the product line PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent education. 2+ years electronic design experience in analog & digital circuit design. Familiarity with PCAD, Allegro tools, FPGA development, & VHDL desired.
