Shift work/weekend work shall apply. This position will be located out of the Metro Roseville office. The person will start working the day shift until he/she is trained in. Once trained in, the position will start the 24/7 operation shift work/weekend work/rotating. We work a six-week rotation with four weeks of days followed by two weeks of nights. Why MnDOT? This position is responsible for leading and coordinating traffic engineering work in the district. Key responsibilities include: Responding to a wide range of questions and concerns from the public and other stakeholders about traffic safety, congestion, and access issues. Leading or supporting traffic studies and data collection related to access management, road signs, pavement markings, and safety. Providing guidance and oversight on signing issues within the district. Managing the Safety Management System to identify crash-prone areas, recommend improvements, and help plan safety projects. Working with the Office of Freight and Commercial Vehicle Operations to develop rail-related projects and managing highway/rail crossing safety projects. Minimum Qualifications for Engineer Senior: Licensure as a professional Civil Engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience, and Interior Design (AELSLAGID). (If obtaining licensure through Comity, a temporary permit from AELSLAGID must be provided to MnDOT HR prior to starting employment.) Minimum Qualifications for Engineer Graduate 2: To qualify, Engineer 2 Graduate applicants must meet all of the following: A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university or its equivalency as rated by NCEES/EAC. A passing score on the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam. Two years post-graduation civil engineering work OR A Masters degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university or its equivalency as rated by NCEES/EAC A passing score on the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam One (1) year of post-graduate civil engineering work.
