Location: Plano, TX (Hybrid) 3 days onsite 2 days remote
Duration: 12 months Contract (with high possibilities of extension)
Visa: w2 with 12 months visa validity
Description:
Key Skills Python, Shell, Oracle, Data Warehousing (Perl very nice to have)
Data Warehouse Engineer w/ Backend Focus to maintain and improve architecture, tools and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement, configure, and manage Linux-based processes and infrastructure for data warehousing.
Identify and implement system/architecture improvements.
Enhance various Linux-based toolsets, scripts, jobs and processes.
Enhance ETL/database load/extract processes.
Required Skills and Experience we are Looking For:
Proven experience as a Data Warehouse Engineer with a strong emphasis on Shell Scripting and Oracle development.
Practical working experience in Linux environment setup and shell scripting
Practical knowledge of Unix file systems including basics of mount types, permissions, standard tools, pipes.
Working knowledge of Python and preferably also Perl.
Practical working experience with relational databases, preferably Oracle Exadata.
Understanding of the Agile methodology.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Passion for automation and continual process improvement.
Minimum 5 years of experience.
Bachelors degree in STEM related field.
Desired Skills and Experience we are Looking For:
Practical working experience using ETL tools, preferably Informatica.
Practical working experience using orchestration tools, preferably Airflow w/ Python.
Experience with data warehouses and knowledge of the data flows involved.
Willingness to take on problems outside of current skillset and experience.
