WHO YOULL WORK WITHYoull join Bains Private Equity Group (PEG), working closely with senior leadership to define the architectural vision for our proprietary software platforms. This role sits at the intersection of product, engineering, and data, and will play a pivotal part in how Bains technology evolves to deliver impact for our clients.
WHERE YOULL FIT WITHIN THE TEAMAs Chief Architect Engineer, you will lead the definition and governance of Bains enterprise platform architecture. Youll ensure our internal tools and client-facing products connect seamlessly, scale effectively, and operate with enterprise-grade reliability and security. This is a leadership role with significant influence across Bains innovation agenda.
WHAT YOULL DO
Define and govern Bains platform architecture, ensuring scalability across multiple products and services.
Establish and enforce architectural standards across UX, APIs, and microservices.
Translate technology vision into actionable roadmaps, aligning with product and business priorities.
Partner with leaders across PEG to integrate tools into a cohesive, strategic platform.
Represent Bain in architecture forums and ensure our platforms are enterprise-grade, secure, and scalable.
ABOUT YOUMust-Have:
10+ years in enterprise/solution/platform architecture, with senior leadership exposure.
Proven experience leading architecture for enterprise-grade platforms from design through scale.
Expertise in cloud-native, hyperscale environments (APIs, microservices, distributed systems).
Ability to translate technical strategy into business-impact outcomes.
Strong grounding in security, compliance, and reliability.
Nice-to-Have:
Experience in a startup or scale-up environment.
Thought leadership credentials (standards bodies, publications, industry forums).
Prior experience in SaaS or PE-backed tech companies.

U.S. COMPENSATION INFORMATIONCompensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, 401(k) plan with an annual employer contribution based on years of service and Bains best-in-class benefits package (details listed below).
Some local governments in the United States require a good-faith, reasonable salary range to be included in job postings for open roles. The estimated annualized compensation for this role is as follows:
In New York City, the good-faith, reasonable annualized full-time salary range for this role is between US$220,000 US$276,000. Placement within this range will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to experience, education, licensure/certifications, training, and skill level.
Annual discretionary performance bonus
This role may also be eligible for other elements of discretionary compensation
4.5% 401(k) company contribution, which increases after 3 years of service and is 100% vested upon start date
