About the Role

Central Texas Recruiting is seeking an experienced Field Superintendent Residential Construction for a client in Wilmette, IL to manage day-to-day onsite operations for residential remodeling and new construction projects. This role ensures projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of craftsmanship and client satisfaction.
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver, an excellent communicator, and a hands-on leader who can coordinate multiple trades while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe jobsite.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all onsite activities and serve as the primary field representative
Coordinate trades, suppliers, inspectors, and internal teams
Execute construction according to approved plans, scopes of work, and schedules
Ensure adherence to building codes, safety standards, and quality expectations
Manage jobsite logistics, deliveries, and workflow sequencing
Monitor project progress daily and resolve issues proactively
Maintain detailed project documentation (logs, photos, inspection reports, change orders)
Conduct quality control checks throughout each project phase
Ensure punch lists are fully completed before turnover
Collaborate with Project Managers and Designers to execute design intent
Maintain professional communication with homeowners, architects, and trade partners
Enforce company safety policies and OSHA standards
Maintain a safe, organized, and clean jobsite at all times

Qualifications & Requirements

U.S. Work Eligibility Required
Education & Experience:
5+ years of residential construction experience (remodeling or custom homes preferred)
Bachelors degree preferred
Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and building codes
Proven ability to manage multiple trades and maintain schedules
Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
Technical Skills & Competencies:
Experience with construction management software (BuilderTrend or similar)
Proficiency with digital drawings & cloud-based documentation
Excellent communication and leadership abilities
Strong problem-solving, organization, and time-management skills
Nice to Have:
Carpentry or hands-on construction background
Experience with luxury/custom home projects
Experience working directly with architects, designers, and homeowners
OSHA compliance training or site safety certification
