Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to provide planning, oversight, and supervision across a diverse portfolio of construction programs. This role is responsible for managing small to medium-sized projects of varying complexity and visibility while coordinating across internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, designers, engineers, and business operations to successfully deliver projects on time and within budget.

This position plays a key leadership role and may also serve as a mentor to Project Managers, Associate Project Managers, and Site Managers as the organization continues to grow.

Area of Responsibility
May support multiple programs across multiple sites
Responsible for program financial management and delivery

General Responsibilities
Plan, track, and evaluate capital projects including scope, schedule, and budget across planning, design, and construction phases
Develop and implement construction project management policies and procedures to support a standardized national framework

Core Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of the construction process including budgeting, bidding, scheduling, quality control, warranty response, and financial reporting
Define project roles and responsibilities based on scope, schedule, and budget
Plan, schedule, estimate, and coordinate construction activities with staff, contractors, architects, and engineers
Ensure all safety requirements are met across construction, renovation, and remodeling activities
Communicate progress, risks, milestones, timelines, and key metrics to stakeholders
Track and report weekly on percent complete, budget burn, earned value, slippage, duration to completion, and overall project performance

Supplemental Responsibilities
Site Management and Production
Perform site audits
Promote job site safety and safe work practices
Verify quality assurance programs are implemented and effective
Monitor deliverables, schedules, and delivery timelines
Ensure stakeholders are informed of any schedule changes
Assist with dispute resolution, negotiations, arbitration, or litigation as needed

Workforce Management
Establish staffing requirements for each program phase in coordination with site managers
Define Statements of Work and specifications for goods and services
Manage ongoing quality control and participate in issue resolution
Monitor staff performance
Lead project management team meetings
Participate in interviewing, hiring recommendations, and onboarding of project staff

Materials and Equipment Management
Monitor material deliveries
Monitor equipment deliveries

Inspection and Testing
Perform secondary inspections to ensure compliance with contractual requirements
Coordinate with Quality Control Managers to audit quality assurance programs
Interact with inspectors, testing agents, and quality management personnel as required

Documentation and Reporting
Prepare written project status reports and documentation
Report on project success metrics, testing, and deployment activities
Maintain accurate project records
Continue professional development to stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies

Qualifications and Experience
Core Qualifications
Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance
Experience managing multi-trade construction projects in a government contracting environment
OSHA 30-hour certification
USACE QCMC certification
Strong understanding of construction documentation including RFIs, submittals, MSDS, safety plans, and environmental plans
Experience with Primavera and/or Microsoft Project preferred
Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-demand environment
Strong multitasking skills and attention to detail

Required Experience
10+ years of project management experience
10+ years of construction site management experience
5+ years of U.S. Government FAR exposure and application

Education
Bachelors degree preferred
An additional four years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree

Additional Areas of Experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling tools
Design and engineering experience preferred
Construction estimating experience preferred
Healthcare construction experience preferred
IT infrastructure construction experience preferred

Certifications
USACE QAQM certification required
OSHA 30 certification required
CAPM or PMP certification preferred

Working Conditions
Primarily office-based with potential overtime to meet deadlines
Periodic work at active construction sites, including outdoor environments
Ability to navigate uneven terrain, ladders, stairs, trenches, and confined spaces
May involve work in extreme weather conditions
Travel may be required to support project sites and stakeholder meetings

Physical Requirements
Ability to operate a computer and standard office equipment
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment
Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds occasionally
