Controls Engineer

Are you passionate about automation and cutting-edge technology? Our client in Blythewood, SC is seeking a Controls Engineer to join their team and play a key role in delivering innovative solutions that drive efficiency and performance in a high-speed production environment.
What Youll Do:
- Lead the implementation, configuration, and optimization of PLC and CNC systems, ensuring seamless integration and top-tier performance.
- Perform software upgrades, maintain hardware and software inventories, and provide technical expertise for industrial networks (including ProfiBus).
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues, leveraging diagnostic tools to maintain efficient operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teamsquality, process, and manufacturing techniciansto improve safety, quality, and productivity.
- Support PC and networking systems on the shop floor and contribute to hardware design and programming.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and think creatively to solve challenges.
- Participate in start-ups and demonstrate a whatever it takes attitude to deliver results.
What Were Looking For
- Strong background in PLC programming, frequency drives, robotics, machine vision, and industrial networking.
- Experience with Siemens PLCs and CNC systems preferred.
- Familiarity with Fanuc robot programming and maintenance.
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and PC/networking support.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in high-speed manufacturing (automotive preferred).
- Hands-on experience with Machine Vision, Marking/Welding Lasers, Torque Drivers, and Gauging is a plus.
- A relentless drive for success, customer-focused mindset, and commitment to continuous improvement.
Education & Experience
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or Technology.
- At least 4 years of industrial automation experience.
