Structural Engineer (This is a unique opportunity) MDS Staffing is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our customer's team. You will be a first member and key part of building an structural engineering division. This is a Direct Hire position. Our client has been designing and building a wide range of structures-from commercial to residential and agricultural-since 1985. What You'll Do Design and analyze structural systems using wood, steel, and concrete Stamp and seal structural drawings and calculations for permitting Collaborate with drafting, sales, and project management teams from concept to construction Ensure compliance with applicable codes (IBC, ASCE 7, AISI, NDS) Conduct structural feasibility reviews and recommend cost-effective solutions Support field staff and troubleshoot structural concerns on active job sites Attend pre-construction meetings and review geotechnical reports Maintain internal engineering documentation and stay up to date on industry standards What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred) Professional Structural Engineer (PE) license in MN and WI, or the ability to obtain within 6 months 5+ years of experience in structural design of building systems Proficiency in structural design software (RISA, RAM) and CAD tools (AutoCAD, Revit) Familiarity with low-rise commercial, residential, or agricultural projects Strong communication, time management, and independent problem-solving skills Willingness to travel to job sites and conduct field visits as needed

Job Overview: The Senior Designer is responsible for the development and implementation of design activities in support of developing new designs and/or improving upon the performance and design of existing products. This includes overseeing modeling designs, and creation and approval of drawings. Lead the creation of prototypes used to develop and validate design concepts. Effectively communicate design intent to core team, operations, materials and project managers. Be a subject matter expert in design, prototyping and/or document management. Show a proven track record of success on multiple complex product development and continuous improvement projects. This job is located in Warroad, MN. Highlights of your role: Lead the development of product and component designs. Develop moderately complex designs including design for fit, form and function. Must be able to effectively lead development of key design requirements, tolerances, and test methods to ensure design meets core product and performance requirements. Execute and/or direct design, CAD modeling and testing of product design in product development and/or continuous improvement projects. Coach team members on design best practices. Oversee prototype activities using shop tools and equipment for feasibility analysis. Utilize 3D printed components and other prototyping techniques to confirm and develop design concepts. Independently lead and/or delegate CAD model and drawing creation, ensuring they communicate design intent and follow CAD standards. Create and facilitate document approvals utilizing ECN (Electronic Change Notices) software. Able to create engineering documents, drawings and specifications. Capable of developing and updating technical documents for key stakeholders. You're a good fit if you have (or if you can): Associate degree or equivalent design experience preferred. Experience in design and/or manufacturing processes required. Advanced knowledge of 2D and 3D Modeling software (Inventor preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite required. Have 5+ years of design and development experience. Demonstrated a comprehensive track record of success on multiple complex product development and continuous improvement projects. Ability to communicate and collaborate with external suppliers to achieve design intent. Displays a positive demeaner, able to mentor and leverage resources within team, capable of building strong relationships with other cross-functional groups Be familiar with product components and designs, understanding how design relates to field performance and certification requirements.
